The
Dinning Hall is normally set to seat 74 guests, but can be rearranged to accommodate up to
120. The ceilings are 15 high. Lighting comes through oiled-deerskin coverings which
can be opened to provide ventilation. At night the wooden chandeliers that are hung from
the ceiling are lighted. These are accented with brightly painted shells, coral and gold
inlays. The walls are covered in fine tapestries depicting Elves in various scenes. Some
are scenes of combat, while others show ideal family life, hunting, and the great woods.
Everywhere though, nature is depicted as perfect. The floor is made of wood, which has
been polished smooth to a bright luster. All the chairs at the general tables are of a low
back design, with a leaf motive and coral inserts representing flowers and buds. The Main
Table sports wooden chairs of a high back design, which are also carved with matching
scenes to those found on the tapestries. Again coral inserts are used to heighten the
overall designs. All the chairs are padded, and the seats and armrests are covered in fine
green-dyed suede. The double doors on the South wall are banded with metal, and can be
barred from the inside. The two doors on the North wall are thin and non-locking. The one
on the right is marked "In" and the other is marked "Out". During meal
times, up to 30 members and Sentries can be found here, eating and sharing conversation.
